The objectives in this sector are:
- Mutual
understanding on the issues and regulatory tools for the water sector
intensifies and deepens
- Favourable change
in the capacity of the GoI to deal with water pollution,
particularly with regard to international best practices.
- Input for policy
framework enhancement delivered.
Expected results are:
- Enhanced knowledge
and knowledge networks on management of water quality in India,
including the initiation of an accessible network of academics, city
engineers, and decision-makers on river basin level.
- Input for enhanced
policies, legislation, regulations, and tools for water quality
management in India provided.
Activities:
3.1 Preparation of a SWOT-analysis, a detailed activity
plan and necessary background information on quality issues of surface
and ground water according to a perspective of a river basin approach.

3.2 Conduct a national focus group to enhance understanding of the data gap, validation issues and data exchange concerns regarding surface and ground water quality data as a regulatory tool and to identify remedial action. Completed, for detailed report click here
3.3 Start up the digital
documentation of an accessible network of expertise on river basin level
to support suitable local solutions.
